AFI organised a free dental seminar focussing on dental issues in AS kids. The speaker for the webinar was Dr. O.S Thind, who is renowned dentist in Noida, India. He is also an angel father. The informative webinar focussed prevention methods and oral hygiene. Watch the seminar by Clicking here.
FEBURARY
FIRST EVER WEBINAR ON ANGELMAN SYNDROME
On the occasion of International Angelman Day, which is celebrated on 15th of February ever year in honour of Dr.Harry Angelman, the AFI organised the first ever webinar in India, on Angelman Syndrome. It was organised in association with SRCC Children’s Hospital, Mumbai. It was attended by more than 40 parents and doctors. It was a two part program. A wide range of topics including a brief of Angelman syndrome (AS), genetics of AS, Communication in AS, Diet for AS kids etc. were covered. The event was hosted by Dr.Anaita Udwadia Hegde. 2020
NOVEMBER
The AFI got officially registered on 2/11/2020 as a section 8 company. It is the first ever Foundation for Angelman Syndrome in India. Later in the same month, An article in the marathi magazine ‘Rangaai’, published for their Diwali edition, elaborating on the whole AS situation in India. It was titled “Ayushayat Sakarartmak Badal Mahatvacha” meaning a positive change in your life is important. It also described the journey of the founder Pooja Joshi Bhadrige before and after being a mother to a special child ‘Yug’.

2018
DECEMBER
An article on AS was published on the online platform named NEWZHOOK. It focuses on changing people’s attitudes towards disability.
NOVEMBER
A whatsapp group of angel parents from all over India, was created. There are currently more than 100 parents in the group. This group acts like a support in difficult times as experiences and examples are shared on the group. AFI participated in ICNC for awareness of Angelman Syndrome. It was attended by more than 1000 neurologists and doctors from all over the world. AFI had the opportunity to put up a stall and a standee for awareness of AS.

Started the first website on Angelman Syndrome.
